Yesterday I ran the 3 mile loop, which I never do (neither the 3 mile loop or run by myself). Today I'm up and will do whatever. |

Thursday we did Marshes (thanks so much L and C - you are the best!). Friday we did a nice core workout. Friday night I ate a ton of ice cream which I havent done for awhile. Yum. I'm signed up for the Jack's Generic tomorrow but I'm not doing it - company, did a tri last weekend, too much driving. Take your pick. I have a million excuses...:) Really, though, I love that race but I just dont feel like doing another now. I want to spend time with family. |

Yesterday I got a nice 5 mile run in. Today I swam about 3/4 mile (maybe less) but hung out at the pool for a long time. I was cold all day! |

I had a good, hard swim workout today. Why is it I need someone standing over me directing me to work hard in the pool? |

This morning we did 12 miles on the memorial ride for Micahel Argall. It was incredibly moving to see so many people turn out for it. One person can impact so many. |

Yesterday morning I swam - just 2 laps at Bartons but that's better than nothing. Than I walked about 2 miles with a friend which was very pleasant. I love walking. This morning I did Ladera Norte and it was hard! What was funny was that we ran into a couple of guys who were on their 5th repeat UP ladera norte. I dont know how many they were doing. They are doing Pike's peak next month. My god they were tough. They were running. No walking. I was very impressed! |

I'm weirdly obsessed...
by something I saw in the elevator today. I will be the first to admit that I am not,and have never been,a girl who paints or manicures her nails much. Sometimes I paint my toenails. So, this morning I got on the elevator going up to the 11th floor of my building at work and happened to glance down at a lady who pushed the 10 button. omg...she was wearing sandles and she had these long, long, long, pointy, painted toenails. It was horrifying. Like so long and pointy that you cant imagine how she could ever get actual shoes on. Like the shoes would have to be 2 sizes bigger than her foot. Like even then the nails would poke holes in the shoes. And when I say "pointy", I'm talking like filed to a sharp point like a dangerous weapon. I couldnt take my eyes off of these nails and I cant stop thinking about them. Simultaneously I am completely repulsed and obsessed. Already I'm on my third glass of wine trying to suppress this hideous memory. I need help. |

Bootie camp was fun today! We ran up and down (many multiple times!) the hill by Austin High Track. In between runs we did pushups, crunches, planks and whatever you call it when you lower your self down (works the triceps?). Thank god for big booties because at one point we were all leaning on the traffic barricade fence thingie (it has a name but I cant remember it) and it broke and we all landed on our butts. Luckily nobody hit their head. It could have been ugly. But instead it was just funny. |

So this morning we did the "mystery hills" which are the hills behind the Mgnolia cafe area and we did 4 sets and then a backwards hill. We were mighty proud of ourselves because it was tough and we worked hard. It was really a great workout. |

I ran the 5 mile loop this morning with a woman who runs faster than I typically do. It was hard! I was completely soaked by the time we finished. |

Monday I ran the 7 mile loop. It feels like I havent done anything long lately (because I havent). 7 felt long which is weird. Tuesday we did track and it was certainly better than last week! This morning I swam 1/2 mile at bartons. That felt real easy which makes me realize it wont be hard to get back up in the mileage on that. Tomorrow we'll do an easy trail run and then Friday a boot camp. But hopefully this weekend I can get a long run in - and by that I mean at least 10 miles. |
