Friday night I ate a ton of ice cream which I havent done for awhile. Yum. I'm signed up for the Jack's Generic tomorrow but I'm not doing it - company, did a tri last weekend, too much driving. Take your pick. I have a million excuses...:) Really, though, I love that race but I just dont feel like doing another now. I want to spend time with family.

by something I saw in the elevator today.

I will be the first to admit that I am not,and have never been,a girl who paints or manicures her nails much. Sometimes I paint my toenails.

So, this morning I got on the elevator going up to the 11th floor of my building at work and happened to glance down at a lady who pushed the 10 button. omg...she was wearing sandles and she had these long, long, long, pointy, painted toenails. It was horrifying. Like so long and pointy that you cant imagine how she could ever get actual shoes on. Like the shoes would have to be 2 sizes bigger than her foot. Like even then the nails would poke holes in the shoes. And when I say "pointy", I'm talking like filed to a sharp point like a dangerous weapon.

I couldnt take my eyes off of these nails and I cant stop thinking about them. Simultaneously I am completely repulsed and obsessed.

Already I'm on my third glass of wine trying to suppress this hideous memory. I need help.

In between runs we did pushups, crunches, planks and whatever you call it when you lower your self down (works the triceps?). Thank god for big booties because at one point we were all leaning on the traffic barricade fence thingie (it has a name but I cant remember it) and it broke and we all landed on our butts. Luckily nobody hit their head. It could have been ugly. But instead it was just funny.

Tuesday we did track and it was certainly better than last week! This morning I swam 1/2 mile at bartons. That felt real easy which makes me realize it wont be hard to get back up in the mileage on that. Tomorrow we'll do an easy trail run and then Friday a boot camp. But hopefully this weekend I can get a long run in - and by that I mean at least 10 miles.
